People are divided into right-handed and left-handed not by random. Any mathematician will say that if this process was accidental then the number of right-handers and left-handers would be equal, but this is not so. And despite of small number left-handers are notable for their heightened activity due to their innate peculiarities.
At the same time, little attention is paid to development and introduction of specialized instruments and devices for the left-handed while use of traditional (right-handed) gadgets creates certain difficulties. The example of the use of wristwatches is probably one of the most vivid. Today most models of wristwatches are designed to wear on the left wrist, which is certainly comfortable for right-handers. But if someone puts on such a watch on the right wrist there can be some problems with adjustments. Moreover the appearance is not very aesthetic – as if someone wears a left glove on the right hand or his hat back to front.
The main paradox is that practically any type of existing analogue watches can be made in variant for left handed people without any significant costs.
If you look at the picture above you will notice that on the left there is a regular watch to wear on the left wrist while on the right there is a watch designed to wear on the right one. The watches are absolutely the same. They differ only in the design of the dial.
And indeed, if we take two absolutely identical movements to make two watches – for left-handers and right-handers – we’ll see that the procedure of modernization is simple. First we should turn the dial for 180 degrees and then during the assembly of the modernized watch set the hands in new initial position (at the new 12 o’clock position). Modernization is complete.
The same process can be used to modernize different types of watches – both simple and complicated with several calendars or dials.
